Hello, I am Emmanuel Cerf, chairman of PMMI and I would like to review some of our association’s highlights from 2021. 

While 2021 was full of uncertainties, PMMI’s focus remained on providing meaningful ways to bring our industry together – whether virtually or in person. During the first half of 2021, PMMI served our membership with virtual events like our virtual Joint Committee Meeting, Executive Leadership Conference and Enlace EXPO PACK—which was the year’s most comprehensive online event for the packaging and processing industry in Latin America.  

During this time, we continued to work toward bringing the industry together in person in the second half of the year: at PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Healthcare Packaging EXPO – and the industry was ready! With 1,500+ exhibitors, the show attracted more than 23,000 attendees, eager to find solutions, new technologies and inspiration.  Exhibitors and customers alike were energized by the number of people who attended the show and more importantly the business conducted from the moment the doors opened. 

After an incredibly successful PACK EXPO Las Vegas, our members came together again at our Annual Meeting. Over 300 members from nearly 150 member companies traveled to Detroit to network with peers and hear about the latest industry trends. It was a great meeting where we also honored 10 emerging leaders with On the Rise awards and raised over $44,000 for the PMMI Foundation at our first silent auction. What a way to top off a challenging year, in which our industry grew and evolved.  

I would like to personally thank PMMI’s leadership – our Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Committee Members for sharing their knowledge, expertise and talents to help our association stay focused in 2021, and enable us to serve you – our members. 

I invite you to review our 2021 Highlights and learn more about how PMMI is working for you! I look forward to new opportunities to connect in 2022, especially PACK EXPO East in March in Philadelphia, the return of EXPO PACK México in June followed by PACK EXPO International in October in Chicago. 

Our industry continues to be strong and PMMI’s future is brighter than ever!
